When you arrive at our office our receptionist will greet you and welcome you as a part of our family. If you have not already filled out the new patient forms we will request you fill your required forms. This paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition.
Next you will be brought to the doctor’s office to discuss your health related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options. Your first visit is designed for the Doctor to learn more about you, your condition, and your expectations. Communication between you and the Doctor is most important in determining your customized treatment approach.
After your consultation, you will be brought to the examination room where the Doctor will perform a complete examination including testing reflexes, orthopedic, neurological, postural, and physical examinations. In addition the Doctor will perform a functional “Range of Motion” examination in order to determine your ability to turn, bend and move. Remember, nothing will be done in our office without your consent.
Your condition may require us to take diagnostic x-rays in order to get a full evaluation of your case. X-rays help us rule out more serious conditions and assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you. Most people are amazed once they review their x-rays and they can often identify their problem areas and degenerative changes themselves.
Report of Findings
Once the Doctor has evaluated all of your health information as well as the examination findings, he will provide you with a report of findings in order to answer the three most popular questions:
- Can you help me?
- How long will it take and what do you recommend I do to get better?
- How much is it going to cost?
After discussing with you your goals for health, examining your spine and reviewing any x-rays or test, the Doctor will discuss treatment recommendations with you. If he feels you need additional tests such as an MRI or CAT scan or if you need to see a different specialist he will tell you. If the Doctor does not feel he can help you in our office, he will refer you to an appropriate specialist who can help. If the Doctor believes he can help you, he will recommend treatment options and a wellness program. Remember, our goal is to achieve the best results in the shortest time.
